Mission Statement

The Fisher Center for Management and Technology facilitates development of beneficial relationships between corporate executives and the faculty, staff and students at the University of California, Berkeley.

The Fisher Center works with its member organizations to help them make use of IT-related research resources at U.C. Berkeley. The Fisher Center develops research and educational programs to meet its needs and those of the faculty, staff and students of U.C. Berkeley.

History

The Fisher Center was formed in late 1992 as an outgrowth of the Information Technology Management program of UC-Berkeley's Walter A. Haas School of Business. In the mid 1990s the center received a generous gift from Don Fisher (the co-founder of The Gap) and his name was added to ours. Organizationally, the center is one of the activities of the Institute for Business Innovation (IBI) within the Haas School of Business at UC-Berkeley.
